EJECTOR PUMPS
An ejector pump is used in underground plumbing to remove wastewater from plumbing fixtures that are located below the level of the main sewer line or septic system. In situations such as basement bathrooms, laundry rooms, or floor drains, gravity alone cannot move wastewater up to the main sewer line. To solve this, wastewater flows into a sealed underground basin that is installed below the floor level. Inside the basin is an ejector pump that automatically activates when the wastewater reaches a certain level. The pump then forces the sewage through a discharge pipe that runs upward until it connects to the building’s main drain line.
